　　Thermal desorption (TD) is a highly versatile, sensitive and labour-saving sample introduction technique for GC and GC/MS. It combines selective concentration enhancement with direct extraction into the carrier gas. Extracted analytes are then efficiently transferred/injected into the GC(MS) or alternative vapour analyser. All this takes place in one fully automated operation.

　　Key applications include measurement of volatile and semi-volatile organic chemicals (VOC and SVOC) in air and materials.
